New
Territory Manager Appointed
Tasmania is a place that is well known for its scenic beauty and lovely
people, however its agricultural productivity and diversity is something
that can often be overlooked according to Brett Kearsley - SprayGro
National Sales Manager. It is an area that I love to visit, due to the
people, high productivity and diversity. It is interesting to work with
growers that may be growing poppies, potatoes, high yielding cereals
that have been grazed, to pasture grazing along with seed production
operation in the one, he said.
Due to the increased demand for improved efficiency in liquid nutrient
applications, both foliar and fertigation Spraygro Liquid Fertilizers
has appointed Mr David Rann as the Tasmanian Territory Manager to bring
local representation and his experience to SprayGro in the state.
David started his training from the ground up with an agricultural apprenticeship
on the rich red soils of Sassafras on the North West Coast of Tasmania.
After spending time touring around Europe, David moved to Victoria to
complete his Bachelor of Applied Science (Agriculture). David has had
the opportunity during his career to work in WA and SA with broadacre
style production horticulture with senior agronomy roles and has also
spend time in the US and Canada studying these pursuits.
He has been heavily involved in national agribusiness through national
and state based roles with rural distribution. David completed a Master
of Business Administration (MBA), while working, which David said put
a real dent to his social life at that time. These experiences have
helped to equip David with the tools needed to manage the dynamic changes
occurring with the use of fluid, fertigation, foliar and dribble technology
that are being rapidly adopted in the Tasmanian agricultural industry.
David said that these changes have been the result of Tasmanian farmers
embracing positive changes in their crop nutrition requirements.
David believes as the face of agriculture is changing due to climatic
impacts, Tasmania with good rainfall catchment areas has the opportunity
to secure its future as a reliable supplier of agricultural produce.
As nutrition is critical to yield and quality, Spraygro with David's
help is well placed to help service the Tasmanian agricultural market.
D
avid
is based at Port Sorell on the North West Coast of Tasmania, with his
wife and two young children. He enjoys outdoor activities, the beach
life and bushwalking being high on the list.
Brett says that having David on the team has added a professional approach
to our support of the Tasmanian market, which it should fully expect.
We are extremely happy to have him on board.
